Laura Newman & JBS Foods

Laura Newman, is one of the founding members of the Truckers Feeding The Homeless movement, the Administrative Professional for TFTH, a mother of 3, and out of Flint Michigan.  Laura has an extensive background in the corporate sector and decided a few years ago she wanted to drive trucks.  While all of us here at TFTH thought she was  "crazy" for leaving a well paying, upper management position, loaded with perks to come drive trucks... after getting to know Laura, it made sense to us all, and it speaks to her character on so many levels. Laura is an example and an inspiration to many in regard to chasing your dream, stepping out of one's comfort zone, and most of all, following your heart regardless of the opposition with the mindset, "failure is NOT an option."  Last year Laura started driving for JBS and made an incredible connection with her company and TFTH.  In the past 3 years we have approached several mega-carriers and other companies in hopes the industry would join us and step up to the plate, facing the challenge of feeding the homeless and less fortunate here in the United States of America.  Last year, Laura accomplished the feat of acquiring the connection and contribution from one of the leading global food giants, JBS Foods.  Thanks to Laura, her rapport, work ethic, and most of all her communication to others about what we do, JBS took an incredible leap and made a commitment and a large contribution to our movement donating 200lbs. of chicken, a semi-truck with a refrigerated trailer to transport the chicken to Houston (where we fed, clothed, and gifted hygiene products to the homeless and less fortunate ), as well as covering the fuel cost for the truck and the refrigerated trailer.

Anthony Newhouse & Sandell Transport Inc.

Anthony Newhouse, is one of the founding members of Truckers Feeding The Homeless movement, Vice President of TFTH and a father of two.  Anthony has been around trucks and the industry from childhood.  He's been a Class A CDL driver for 11 years, and has extensive industry knowledge from both the driver side and the logistics side, as he now is a lead operator in warehousing, a part-time Semi-Truck Driver, and full time broker, as well as owning his own licensed authority.  Born in Detroit, now residing in Schenectady, NY, Anthony takes feeding the homeless and less fortunate seriously, as it is very close to his heart.  Raised in an environment and familiar with the challenges of the homeless and less fortunate, Anthony is a true example of determination, perseverance, fortitude, and resilience. His "stand on his word" character, and his gentleness as a father with 2 daughters only scratches the surface of his solid character and humanness.  Now brokering, driving, and leading an important role in expanding Sandell Transport Inc. (Schenectady, NY), while being a gymnastics coach and father to his 2 daughters... well, let's just say, "Anthony has a full plate and handles it all without a complaint."  Now, today and through TFTH, Anthony has taken on the responsibility and made the commitment of sharing the rewards of that "full plate" with the homeless and less fortunate. This year, Anthony has tackled the feat of connecting with Sandell Transport Inc. and has acquired large clothing and product donations from the company, as well as lining up beverage donations for this year's event in Baltimore in September 2022.  Anthony has made it a point to show up to events whether it is by truck or taking a flight out of NY, as he did to the event held in Houston last year.  He continues to lead by example, continues to show compassion and understanding, is a true team player, and integral part of the TFTH movement.

Sharon Watts, Master Sergeant, 22 years serving in the United States Army.

Sharon Watts became a member of the Truckers Feeding The Homeless movement after catching wind of what we were doing in Louisville, KY.  A soft spoken, while at the same time powerful,  mother, grandmother of two, and currently serving her 22nd year in the United States Army with the rank, Master Sergeant - Sharon was born in Oklahoma City, OK. She now resides in Texas.  TFTH can't say enough about the incredible contributions Sharon has made to TFTH, and how grateful TFTH is to have her to be part of the movement.  When asked, why do you do it?  Sharon's straight-faced stated, "Because Choice ties my hands behind my back" smiled, and followed with, "It's all about helping others, selfless service, period!"  Sharon is a true example of a selfless leader, as she takes the responsibility seriously, and she shows it through action.  Sharon has a no-procrastination approach, her attention to detail and organizational skills are unmatched, a meticulous planner, and her work ethic is unquestionable.  When it's "Go-Time" Sergeant Watts is running circles around the rest of us, all for the the sake of serving others.  Taking her position as a mother, grandmother, and Master Sergeant, and blending them together Sharon has the ability and capacity to nurture, motivate, inspire, while at the same time keep the team in line.  Her selfless spirit doesn't allow her to settle in the act of giving.  Her compassion for those in need is clearly shown through her actions,  as she goes over and beyond the benchmark.  She quietly raises the bar without no intensions of offense but only because, it's her spirit and her character to do the best that she can do, while at the same time helping other to be the best version of themselves. Her smile is instantly contagious, and Sharon is the first member to be part of the TFTH that is not a trucker.  In spite of the name Truckers Feeding The Homeless, Sharon, not a trucker but a full-time Master Sergeant in the U.S. Military, did not hesitate to not only reach out to TFTH to assist in feeding the people, she also gave a lot of her self, monetary contributions, as well as coming up with new ideas for gifts, and pays a special attention to the homeless and less fortunate women's special needs while out there in the trenches. Sharon makes it a point to show up to the events having to jump through hoops to be cleared from the military on those dates.  None the less she shows up and shows up BIG and with LOVE, and a SELFLESS SPIRIT!
